KC-135 Went Down in Iraq

U.S. Central Command announced Thursday that rescue efforts are ongoing for a KC-135 refueling aircraft lost during Operation Epic Fury. “Two aircraft were involved in the incident,” CENTCOM said. “One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, and the second landed safely.” It was not hostile or friendly fire, CENTCOM said. Also in Iraq, British officials said several U.S. personnel were injured in drone strikes that struck a base housing British and American troops in Irbil on Wednesday night. U.K. Lt. Gen. Nick Perry said there were no British casualties, and the U.S. sustained some casualties but “nothing too serious.” U.S. Central Command forces have struck about 6,000 targets in Iran as of Thursday, the command said.
